CXS is an abbreviation for Conlang X-SAMPA. It is a scheme used by conlangers for transliterating the IPA into characters and symbols commonly available on your PC keyboard. CXS is based on an earlier scheme called X-SAMPA, which is in turn derived from an even earlier scheme called SAMPA.
